Hi everyone, Jess here with a quick recap of the CSA week. What a busy week it has been! Graduation parties, birthday parties, beautiful weather, fun on the farm, life is good! Let’s take a look at our Spring CSA for the week!
- Asparagus
- Grilled with Lemon Salt, Pepper and Olive Oil
- Lettuce From Johnny Putt Farm, Littleton, MA
- In a simple lunch salad
- Pea Tendrils From Johnny Putt Farm, Littleton, MA
- Pea tendril puree
- Spring Garlic
- Frozen for later use
- Eggs
- Egg Sandwiches for the kid’s lunches
It was a quick and simple week CSA-wise. The beautiful thing about the CSA lifestyle is that once you are accustomed to it, you have go-to default recipes for each item that work for your family (and I fell back on my defaults a LOT this week!)
For those in the Summer CSA, emails are starting to roll out with CSA numbers and start dates! It’s an exciting time and it can be easy to become anxious awaiting those details, but fear not, they are coming, and soon a heaven of farm fresh summer produce awaits!
A quick reminder to those interested in the Springdell Winter CSA, the deadline is approaching this Saturday, (same day as the beloved Strawberry Festival)!
Meanwhile, I’ll be back here shortly to discuss the 5th Spring CSA pickup of the season. I hope you all are enjoying this lovely weather, and that your May/June capers are fueled by yummy goodies.
