This week’s featured item is a total favorite of mine, Amish Roll Butter! If you’ve never tried it, it’s pretty wonderful as far as butter goes. If you don’t use a lot of butter, you’ll be happy to know that this freezes beautifully. Click on this link to learn more about the best ways to use and preserve this special item!
It has been a whirlwind of a day. As I ran from an early morning holiday party to CSA pickup to my son’s play, I had just enough time to store things in cold storage, the fridge, and the potato and onion bins. One of the boxes of pea tendrils is already gone, my kids devoured these as-is. Meanwhile, my menu planning for the week is currently in the beginning stages. I may use some of the onion, sausage and sweet potatoes in a Sweet Potato Hash. I might stream up some of the broccoli to try a Meatless Monday version of General Gau’s tofu (adapting from this recipe). Something from the Jordan Brother’s Seafood truck using the mushrooms with shallots in a buttery cream sauce would be dreamy… This week is a little unpredictable on this end, so we’ll see where things take us.
Any special plans for your bounty of goodies this week? As always, I love to hear from you! I’ll be checking in on the Facebook page with any dishes that come to fruition this week. Until then, sweet and savory dreams!
