OK guys, this share box is what I’ve been waiting for. Leeks, Brussels, Spaghetti Squash? Come on now, it screams fall and I love it. In comes soup season and warm comforting foods. Let’s take a look at what is in the share this week:
- Leeks
- Carrots
- Apples
- Potatoes
- Brussels Sprouts
- Spaghetti Squash
- Heirloom apples
- Big bag of spinach
- Kale
- I just love that the flower share keeps on giving even after the flowers are finished for the season. My front steps and dining room table are beautiful, thank you Springdell!
Side note here friends, I stopped at the farm stand to pick up some bacon. If you are asking why, then you need to pair up bacon with Brussels Sprouts. They are a match made in heaven. Just like peanut butter and chocolate, a match made in heaven. There is really nothing that compares to sprouts with bacon fat. Seriously, do it, totally worth it.
Have a great week everyone!
Love your posts, ladies (and blog, too). I must say bacon is a staple in our freezer and lately sausage as well. Bacon goes with A LOT! Love stuffing squashes with a sausage based mix.
I too, am loving the change over to the fall veggies. Had our last corn over the weekend from the stand. Roasted my (unpeeled) kuri squash last night, and braised some red cabbage (with bacon and leeks, honey and cider vinegar) as sides for my Dell chicken. oh YUM!
Love eating with the seasons and being part of the Dell family helps support this.
Thank you for checking in and for the kind words, Paulita! Your braised cabbage sounds absolutely divine!
