Hello everyone, Jess and Sarah here checking in from our vacation spot up north! We did not leave before checking in with Samuel who packed us our beautiful share boxes to take along. The wifi connection up here is a bit spotty so let’s get right to it!
- butter and sugar corn
- fall off the vine ripe melons
- slicing cucumbers
- bell peppers
- tomatillos
- green cabbage
- heirloom cherry tomatoes
- apples
- beefsteak tomatoes
- basil
- kale
- collards
- Watermelon
- Apples
- 3 bunches of Kale
With the addition of tomatillos to the share boxes, we see some yummy salsa verde in our future! It’s also wonderful to see the apples coming in, especially after this wacky weather and all its casualties.
Tonight we enjoyed a couple of Springdell New York Sirloins on the campfire. This is a quick photo I snapped of half of the steak (we devoured the other pieces before I remember to snap the photo).
The sear looks brutal but the meat under that crust was grilled to perfection, so incredibly juicy and tender! This was perfect with our selection of fresh salsas, a big ole slice of melon, cucumbers, and corn on the cob!
What better way to chase the perfect summer meal than with some super chocolatey zucchini brownies?
We should mention, if anyone accidentally took a bunch of CSA number tags home, please return them to the farm stand, our farmers thank you!
We look forward to spending some time with you cooking this week! Until tomorrow, sweet and savory dreams!
